Submarine Parachute Advisory Group (SPAG)

The Hercules C-130 aircraft takes to the skieas for the Uk SPAG team to begin their esercise. The SPAG team jumps from the aircraft with parachutes as well as equipment including Medium Inflatable Boats (MIBs) and liferafts.
A SPAG jumber is met by a RIB where he lands in the sea. The parachutes are then left and equipment is sourced. The liferafts are then inflated and the search begins for submarine escapees. Here the Italian and Ukrainian SPAG teams jump from a helicopter a few metres above the surface of the water. Their equipment is also dropped from the helicopter simultaneously.
SPAG jumpers once in the water and all liferafts have been inflated use the MIBs to search for submarine escapees. SPAG doctors then stay at the liferafts as a base to administor first aid to survivors. The ITS ANTEO is the support ship for the Italian SPAG team during Sorbet Royal 2005. Once all submarine escapees are found they will be transferred to the ITS ANTEO for further treatment if necessary.
